I think we can all agree on the fact that 2016 has been such a weird year. It was a year full of twists and surprises, however we have been very spoiled by the new albums released by numerous and various artists. And yes. Frank Ocean finally released his long-awaited album.

So here it is, my top 5 albums of 2016:

Kanye West – The Life Of Pablo
Wether you love or hate Kanye West, this album is undeniably well thought and made. Pablo Picasso? Pablo Escobar? It feels like the album is a mix of these two. Dangerous, artistic, authentic and risqué, Kanye’s seventh album is unique and deserve to be on this list.
Listen : No More Parties in L.A (featuring Kendrick Lamar)

Frank Ocean – Blond(e)
Finally. This album is not the typical album you would expect.
We already knew he was a story-teller thanks to his previous album Channel Orange, but he proved and showed his incredible talent once again with this masterpiece.
Listen : Pink + White

Beyonce – Lemonade
Queen B -as usual- spoiled us with this album dropped by surprise. It is full of personal statements about especially about her feelings, but she also reveal some political statements with her song ‘Formation‘.
Watch : Lemonade, The Movie

Without any doubts, I am not a afraid to say that Coloring Books is one of the best hip-hop album of 2016. Chance never fails to surprise us.
Listen (and watch) :
Same Drugs

lady-gagaLady Gaga – Joanne
Joanne is such a personal and emotional album. This is a new Era, but not quite a new Gaga. In fact, it looks like the Gaga from the beginning, this album is the reflection of who she really is.
Listen (and watch) : Million Reasons
